Ticket Vendor

Sold and distributed tickets at the front of the venue to walk-up guests, as well as design chalkboard signage for the event wayfinding at the venue.

The Sweet Pickin's Market is an authentic indoor/outdoor market featuring local and regional artists showcasing their antiques, junk, furniture, repurposed home décor, clothing, jewelry, original art, some good ‘ol junk, handmade treasures, and good eats. The purpose of this event is to create an opportunity to for vendors to present their merchandise to shoppers, and provides the chance for shoppers to purchase unique, one-of-a-kind items they may not find anywhere else.

While this type of event attracts a certain market, and it was interesting to see the different types of shoppers and vendors that were present. The owners of Sweet Pickin's Market did a wonderful job at creating an enjoyable all around experiences for every age. Two food vendors and live music, as well as various types of merchandise vendors. Upon sitting with the owner at the ticket booth, it was obviously the type of passion she has for this industry and the loyalty she has to her vendors. She hand picks the vendors from an application process, and many have been with for years. Through working this event, I learned the emphasis that needs to be placed on the hospitality of your vendors. If they are treated well and business is good a symbiotic relationships forms thus benefiting the market owner the vendors. The vendors make the market successful because of the passion for their work and that needs to be celebrated.
