Mays Business School educate the business majors of Texas A&M in accounting, finance, management, management information systems, marketing and supply chain management. Their mission is to be a vibrant learning organization that creates impactful knowledge and develops transformational leaders. In September 2018, Mays Business School turned 50. To celebrate, a weekend long event was held for alumni and their families as well as current students. The purpose of this event was to connect current and former students to commemorate this achievement and reminisce on past experiences.

This event was fun to be apart of as I got to see current and former students come together and network over their love for Mays Business School. While my interactions with the attendees were limited, my presence at the information booth was crucial. It was stationed in a prime location to reassure attendees they were head in the correct direction towards the seminars and other events. Also, since there was heavy traffic in this area, many of the promotional items, such as customized cups and pens, were very popular among the attendees. Through this event, I learned the effectiveness of booth placements and floor plans. Mays is a rather complex building with confusing hallways to those who are not familiar with the area. The event coordinators anticipated this and strategically placed an information booth to medicate the potential problem. This strategy is one I plan to carry with me as I look to plan many events like the Mays 50th Anniversary Celebration in my professional career.
