Wedding Coordinator Assistant

Assisted the wedding coordinator with day-of logistics, such as event timeline, decor finalization and announcement finalization.

Pam Sites is an individually certified wedding coordinator in the Abilene area but as done many weddings throughout the state of Texas. The purpose of this particular event was to celebrate the love and unification of the bride and groom. 

 

On the day of the wedding, my role was essentially to finalize all the little details, such as decor placement and announcement order. It was interesting being on the other side of a wedding and seeing all the details come together. I was given the responsibility of queuing the DJ, setting up the gift table, as well as telling the bridesmaids when to walk down the aisle. Through this event, I learned I am not heavily interested in wedding coordination but am thankful for Pam allowing me to shadow her for this event. I also learned how to let go of perfectionism and roll with punches the event throws at you. If the coordinator remains flexible, less stress is placed on the event planner, in this case the bride and groom, which makes for a more enjoyable experience for everyone in attendance.
